Unfortunately our appeal (cojoined with a number of other development proposals around Aylesbury) against Aylesbury Vale District Council’s refusal of our outline application for up to 2,745 dwellings and 350,000 sq ft of commercial floorspace was refused by the Secretary of State by letter dated 26th January 2015. The primary reasons related to landscape, heritage setting and transport grounds.
We are obviously very disappointed with this outcome and are considering the implications of the decision for our current development proposals for the site. We remain committed to Fleet Marston as a sustainable development option, and believe that it is well placed to accommodate part of Aylesbury’s substantial future growth requirements. We will therefore continue to promote the merits of the site, and will probably be pursuing a development allocation through the Vale of Aylesbury Plan process.
